  • St Kitts LCDH

ANZ3001 was asking about places to buy & smoke in St Kitts, so for future users I'll post it here where it might be more easily found.

St Kitts is pretty small & due to the hurricanes damaging some islands we were due to visit, we were re-routed & ended up with 3 visits to St Kitts. We went out snorkelling the first visit, which wasn't good; poor coral & hardly any fish to see. Visibility wasn't good either but that was due to a recent blow.

Afterwards we had a walk through the Duty Free Port & my wife got lured into the jewellery shops by the promise of a free pearl, then nearly bought a ring for E1,300! I asked the jeweller about places to smoke & he recommended the LCDH across the road. I hadn't noticed it when we walked straight passed it. It is above the main shops & has a sign over the balcony & one facing you as you enter the area but such was the crush of visitors I didn't see that.

Anyway managed to drag the wife away from the jewellery shop, with promises of 'we'll think about it' & headed up the stairs. Met by some friendly staff & allowed into the walk in. A reasonable collection & a few interesting items, inc the full range of Behikes. But 52's $750, 54, $850 & 56 $1,000 I resisted the temptation. I just bought a few singles & asked for a coffee to smoke a ERDM DT with. 'Oh, coffee is finished for the day', it was 11:30! So I had a Carib beer.

Next visit I came with a young German banker, who works in the City of London & I was improving his chess game. I met the manager & whilst I smoked a Monte Esp No1 2001, he had a large rare Hoyo (Can't remember the name off hand will insert later). A very pleasant chap & we had a great chat about cigars, Cuba & chess (chess is a national obsession in Cuba).

On our final visit I persuaded the wife to come with me & I smoked my Christmas cigar. I had intended it for Christmas Day at my sister's but decided it would be more enjoyable at 32oC, than 5oC & wet. So when I drew out a Cohiba Reserva Robusto, I had to explain to the lass all about seleccion boxes ect. Anyway a lovely afternoon, a superb smoke, in convivial surroundings. I picked up a couple of packs of 5 Exquisitios as I was rather low on these & it will be nice to remember our cruise when I smoke them.

I would recommend dropping by & checking out the Walk-in & having a smoke or two. As for the prices, don't expect anything cheaper than Europe, drink prices were acceptable.

If she is anything like my wife the amount spent on cigars will not have gone un noticed and will be filed away for future reference.

Ha, well your right Kickback but not for long & yes, Moteyi, something very similar occurred but I will tell all in a cruise thread soon.
