Cuba question

My nephew who doesn't smoke is currently on holiday in Cuba - not on the mainland but an island. He's offered to bring back some cigars but says the only place he can get them from is from the hotel. I'm assuming he means from a humidor in the hotel rather than on the beach. My question is, will the prices be the same as in the LCDH stores and are they likely to be genuine?

Might be better of getting the at the airport. Although most hotel shops are legit, although outside Havana they may be more expensive.

No idea where he is staying but have suggested that if he has time to try duty free on the way back.

Be aware the selection isn't great at the airport and prices should be the same everywhere. I certainly didn't see any notable variation from a LCDH shop to a normal hotel booth shop.

Cigar availability can depend on when and where you are in Cuba, better selections the closer you are to Havana, prices are generally regulated in lcdh, airport does have a varied selection but not comprehensive.

Airport has previous for inflating prices too, I think it was [MENTION=13413582]wolfie[/MENTION] that called them on it
