Off to Paris next month for a romantic getaway. That doesn't mean there won't be time to stop at a couple of tabacs though!

Any recommendations of where I should pop in? I've heard good things about Le Lotus

Also wondering if anyone has any recommendations on wine/spirits shops. Would be remiss to not grab a couple of bottles of wine, maybe some cognac/armagnac if possible

located in a small mall, when you enter from the Champs-?lys?es its in the back at the left side.

Please find a link to the top wine stores in town below, it's in French but it has the addresses on there so it shouldn't be a problem finding them.

I can personally recommend you les Quinze-Vins located rue Dante, 75005 Paris. They have a wine bar and right next to it is their store. You have to ask at the wine bar or ring a bell at the store to be let in. They have a very nice selection of wine there. It's located right next to where I work.

As for the Lotus, if you want to purchase boxes of aged cigars always purchase a single to try first. Some of their age stock can be a little tasteless. I think that they use different sources to get their aged cigars and quality can vary.

I bought my first box of puros in Paris (Cohiba Siglo I). Can't remember the shop, but I received "white glove" service from the gent that was maning the store that day. I think it was near Tuileries, which is where the familia Coro was staying. Probably one of those listed in se?or gojira's most excellent post above.

You are talking about La Civette (157 Rue St Honor?, 75001) which is the oldest cigar shop in Europe (1716). Sadly the old owner has sold the store a few years ago and it just isn't the same anymore. It's certainly worth a visit though.

Haha! Reminds me of a time when the Familia Coro was visiting London many years ago. We decided to spend a few days in Paris and on their way to the Eurostar London station, the Taxi Driver wanted to know why we were going to Paris and told us to "Kick 'em in the Butt" when we get there.



All us younger Coros laughed nervously, by dons Juan and TJ continued to stare straight ahead. An odd thing to say, don't you think? Why would he say that?
