So a quick update on the cigar situation in Split, Croatia........there is a very lovely cigar shop in the old town of Split called Havana Cigar Shop, run by Mara, who has been working there for four years. It is owned by the official Cuban cigar importer in the region, and their main business is based in Zagreb, so this shop is a little smaller, but it is a very welcome oasis of calm from the heat and tourists of Split. There is a wide variety of accessories and a small walk-in humidor selling mainly Cubans, but a few non-Cubans too. Prices were pretty similar to mainland Europe - I bought two HdM Le Hoyo de San Juan for ?12 each, a Cuaba Distinguidos for ?12.50 and a Upmann Royal Robusto for ?10.50. I also treated myself to a Colibri V Cutter for ?30.
