Simply for less faff, I've always checked a travel humi, and have never had any problem.

Yes, I see what you mean, your exposure is higher!

I have a cheap torch lighter I got from Amazon so wasn't precious about it. The cutter in the (hopefully) attached photo is a cheap one I don't care too much about. The Xi2 was in my suitcase.

I have a bit of a variety in the photo:
              Upmann Half Corona
              MC Open Master
              Partagas D4
              Partagas Salamones
              Vegas Robaina Unicos
              Ramona Allones Superior
              S?mon Bolivar

Not pictured as smoked last night:
              Cuaba Divinos

That's a healthy selection! The only one I haven't tried is the salamones, I have a couple but they're big smokes. The rest are great [emoji1360]

                  Thanks Krist!

Yeah, I like having a bit of variety. Normally I share boxes with offline friends so we each get a few of each type.
I'm looking forward to having the 100 posts and getting the PMs so I can join with a few purchases. [emoji4]
Have you joined with the boys here in buying any?

I do have a few newbie questions, if you don't mind. How many humidifying bags are needed for a say....7 day trip? Also, since the bags are designed to maintain a certain humidity level (wet), is it safe to let them come in contact with your cigars?

Now, no doubt this has been asked and answered before, but I'm tired of reviewing the ding, dang archives and all the wacky Coro posts, among others.

                    Thanks, fella!

                      Hi RB,

I will answer only for the Boveda packs as I'm not familiar with the other products available.

It's perfectly fine for the packs to contact the cigars directly.
The packs typically last 2-3 months depending on the individual circumstances (temp etc) and I have used existing ones rather than opened new packs for my trip.
It's recommended that you use 1 pack per 25 capacity of your humidor so this being a 10 capacity travel humidor, the one pack would do.

                      Alex

Thanks, Poncho/Alex. Very useful information, especially since I'm getting ready to set up my own humidor. I will add this helpful info to my notebook.

                        Thanks, again!

You're welcome, RB. I'm interested to see what humidor you and starting stash you select. [emoji4]
Do you actually have a physical humidor yet or have you yet to buy one?
Sometimes guys in here give theirs away so that might be worth looking at.

Good questions, Poncho/Alex and I'll start a thread, probably later this week, on my set-up.

For now, my sample selection of cigar is safely stowed away in don TJ's cabinet humidor, but I need to move them pronto! There are a few old desk-top humidors stashed around the hacienda that I will likely clean up and put into use. When I do, I start a thread looking for advice and guidance.

Sounds intriguing as usual RB/TJ; especially the part about needing to move your cigars pronto...

                                Haha! Well...stay tuned, Poncho/Alex

No doubt I'll be looking to you and others for help setting up my humidor. And for the record, I have done some research in the archives on this subject, but it's hard work reading all those, sometimes wacky, posts.
