Just booked a last minute break to Mexico for the end of the month. We'll be staying on a resort outside of Playa Del Carmon. Anyone know if there are any cigar shops worth visiting? Last time we were in the the area (10 - 15 years ago) I didn't see anything that wasn't fake even the shops had fakes. Curious to know if things have changed.

Hi jerry, like yourself I was also in playa del Carman about ten years ago, was looking last year into going back, from what I remember when looking there is some more dedicated cigar shops on the main street and one smaller one down a street towards the ferry landing area, I also think there is some videos on YouTube of the shops... like you say though a lot of fake cigars doing the round in Mexico, so don't know if the situation has got any better.

We stayed on the other coastline last year. Same as before really, no 'proper' shops as such. The airport had a small walk in humidor.
I realise it doesn't help as we stayed somewhere completely different! It was more just to say that the airport was about the best place.

Would you ever visit Cancun? I know its a bit away..
If you do there is a cigar bar we visited a few times back in November... I think it was on cancun boulevard

There is a LCDH in Playa Del Carmon, apart from that I would be wary as fakes are widespread

There is a LCDH in Cancun, the owner's name is David Tour, he has been there 10 years
