Hi All,
Just thought I'd post my shopping experiences in Torremolinos this week (I know there's another thread on my holiday but thought this would be easier to find if anyone ever visits.
A list of the tabacos shops can be found on this link, I'll list all below and just make a note if I didn't visit it: http://www.cmtabacos.es/wwwcmt/lista...ov=29&muni=901
Avenida Isabel Manoja 3 (29620)
This shop didn't have any premium cigars (or a humidor), just some King Edward type cigars in with the cigarettes
BD Playamar, Vial Playa, 34 (29620)
Did not visit
Calle Carmen, 17 (29620)
The shop was just off the main path along the beach down a small back alley, it had a small humidor which sold mainly standard smokes in tubos, although there was a Party 898 10 box in there which seemed out of place. Would only really use to pick up a single to smoke straight away while walking along the beach
Calle Do?a Maria Barrabino 3 (29620)
Had a tiny, tiny desktop humidor which sold what I assume are Canary Island cigars
Calle Rio Bergantes, 14 (29620)
Did not visit
Calle San Miguel, 33 (29620)
This was by far and away the shop I most enjoyed visiting on the holiday (and the holiday included a day trip to Gibraltar), it had a good sized humidor and a lot of aged stuff in there. I picked up old band Cohiba Corona Especial, Lanceros and Sig IV, as well as an Upmann 2 from 2002. They also had Trini Robusto Ts and Robusto Extras, old looking Monte 2s. There were also LEs from 2014 and 2015 and LCDH Exclusives but no REs. They also had a selection of NCs. TBH if you're on Torremolinos this is the only shop I would really recommend.
Carlota Alessandri, 204 (29620)
When I searched for this on the maps App on my iPhone it showed completely the wrong location, it is on the junction of Avenida de Carlota Alessandri and Calle del Cerro Larga (a distance from the town centre, and was a five minute walk from my hotel). My only advice is do not go there.
The cigars are kept in the back so you can't look at what they have on offer, which is annoying but something I can live with, although it did mean I was restricted to asking about REs as I had no idea what was there, unfortunately things went downhill from there, first he seemed to be trying to put me off buying a CC as the start at ?5 so are very expensive, I said I know about cigars, then explaining the concept of an RE proved impossible, and despite making clear I wanted CCs he came out with Brick House and was then going on about Canary Island cigars, eventually I just gave up. Nothing was lost in translation either as he spoke good English.
Joan Miro, 37 (29620)
Oh what could have been, this place had a good sized walk in, but didn't bother with any sort of humidifier so all the cigars in there had completely dried out. There wasn't a great selection although they did have ERDM Coronas de Luxe, which I would have bought if they were even vaguely smokeable.
Plaza de Andalucia, S/N (29620)
No cigars, although I did buy a cheap jet flame from here
PS Martimo, 19 (29620)
Had a small selection of standard smokes under the counter, again good to pick up a cigar to smoke there and then.
Salvador Allende, 42 (29620)
Another shop close to my hotel, but it only sold cigarettes
