  • Cigars in Sydney and Brisbane

Does anyone have any experience of buying and smoking cigars in Sydney or Brisbane? Heading down there at the end of February and always like to try and visit and local cigar shops.

I'm not 100% but I think it is as, if not more expensive than here Rodster.

That was my fear! I'm flying via Singapore, so may try the duty free there, but looks like I will have to travel fully stocked up.

I would check your allowances, Aus is proper cranky about "organic material" - obviously cigars are allowed but worth checking...

So, having spent the last three weeks on holiday in Australia, I am happy to confirm that it is probably the most anti smoking country I have visited in the last 20 years! They basically hate smokers. We know all about the anti-branding packaging laws, but the prices are also higher than the UK and all tobacco products are hidden (similar to the UK) in the shops. I visited two cigar shops and both were fairly negative experiences, with the owners of both pretty 'down' about the whole scene.

Definitely take your own if you ever visit!
