I didnt take any Cubans with me on purpose Tony , just so id try something different

the short story was a very nice smoke , but not as enjoyable as a Cuban IMO , i would smoke them again in the same circumstance .

the Padron was spicy as hell , dry on the palette ....just hard work

both cigars burned superb , no touch ups or relights , very impressed with that side of them , in fact the Padron was finished off walking around NYC with no problems whatsoever

In my (limited) experience, NCs have an image problem that is caused by the manufacturers themselves. From what I've heard, Americans are not really that familiar with the concept of aging cigars. Manufacturers claim their cigars are ready to smoke when you buy them and that might also be a reason why none of them put a boxing date on the box.

However, everytime I try a NC single or sampler, the flavours are fantastic and very little pepper. Smooth smokes, full of flavour. Every box I bought then, after I liked the single, was very harsh and peppery. Not smooth at all. But after a year of putting it away, the pepper went and the smoke became delicious.

Padrons in particular are known to need a bit of age. Even up to three years ideally. Some cigar shops in Europe will tell you as much. So if you go to a shop in the US, maybe ask the sales person if they have a box with a bit of age on it and I'm sure you'll enjoy them a lot more.
