Arrived safely yesterday and found the car hire place despite JFK not having a single sign directing where to go. My friend Gary was persuaded to upgrade to a Lincoln Navigator which is about the size of a Ford Transit with a large bonnet added (photo later) and we drove the 76 miles to Soutjampton at 55mph. Frustrating or what? This thing takes off like a scalded cat when booted. Supper last night in the local pub which has a micro-brewery, not much interest to me of course but a lot of you would love it. Hope to find the local cigar shop today. The couple we're with are bending over backwards to facilitate my cigar intentions which is a bit embarrassing as I don't want it to dominate the holiday.

I found a really smart local cigar shop and lounge today called Besims. The owner was really friendly but it was well overpriced.
