Has anyone had any good cigar buying experiences in Bergerac? Heading down there in a couple of weeks and loving the ?:? exchange rate at the moment!

    Thanks

Your best bet is a day out to Bordeaux, which IMO you should do anyway as it's a wonderful city.

    While there visit http://www.la-regence-cigares.info/

its probably the best Cigar shop in the region. Though please dont expect huge sellections. Still a lovely shop with more than enough stock to keep you happy.

P.S. The link should be in the rules as it's store sales only.

Was in Bergerac for the day in May and had a list of 12 stores to find. Out of the 12 they all but one had very small selections and nothing special.

The best one was a cigar cafe very near to the Tourist information shop, very easy to find and had a good humidor full of the usual suspects, nothing really special but decent prices due to the exchange rate.

Also on the plus side, lovely little town Bergerac

This is great info for me - parents have just bought 'near by' (it's about 1h45m away, but then every town/city seems to be this distance from their place!)

Might try to get a day in when I got in September - but as Andorra is also firmly booked in, I may not have the incentive!

Thanks for the advice - looks like I may have to make a little visit to the tourist information office!

The best thing is in France driving is so easy that you don't actually mind a 2hr drive so much.

Feedback from Bergerac - bring your own!! They do sell cigars in a couple of Tabac's but pretty pretty poor selection.

I went to Aachen in Germany last week, and that was a different matter all together. Stunning cigar shop with huge walk in humidor. Not sure that the city has masses to see and do, other than being the place where the Kings of Charlemagne used to be crowned, but by 'eck it has a great cigar shop.
