Hi Guys, I've been away from the Cigar scene for a couple of years (due to ill health) but I used to travel to Gibraltar quite often and as the guys say it's a great location to get cigars and they have stock with up to about 5 years of age. best to get your friend to check the boxes as small fluctuations in humidity are always possible with small shops, most will be fine but on the odd trip I noticed the odd split foot in some boxes.


If you post them you will have to pay UK duty, but as a tourist you can bring back 50 cigars as your duty free allowance, most boxes are marked and sourced from H&F, other good locations are Barcelona where there are no limits as long as it's for personal consumption.

Agreed Wigan, think we're crossing the line here. You can discussion where to go on holiday & bringing back your limit but not trying to evade duty by posting home ect.

I was on holiday in Spain last month and popped into Gibraltar and more specifically Stagnettos and was highly impressed with the range they had in stock, how well they were kept and the prices. The service is top notch too and I will definitely be back next time I am in Gib.

I was in Gib when joining the Uganda '82 & when visiting on Illustrious '85 but wasn't switched on to Havanas in those days & so never visited Staggies, did you Undercover?

I smoked a Ramon Allones Grandes with Albert Stagnetto at a bullfight in Seville last month.
It's a great shop, great staff. They know their stuff. Some aged finds there too.
Spain allows 50 cigars per person brought back in from Gib.
I had a close one in Gib/Spain last month.
I bought 85 cigar in Gib, then walked across the border with a friend to Spain and left the cigars in the car.
The next morning, with the cigars in the car on the spanish side, I was on my own and ended up in the wrong lane out of the car park and drove back into Gib by mistake. I drove right back out again but as I had 85 cigars in the car I had to go through the "something to declare" line. It took me a while to explain to the customs agent that I had bought the cigars the day before with a friend and drove back in that morning by mistake. He let me off, after taking my passport number to ensure I wouldn't bring more cigars from Gib into Spain in the same month.
50 cigars is no problem.
No Barrel Proof anymore in Gib which is a shame. At ?11 per litre it was one of the best rum deals in the world.
They have the Seleccion de Maestros now though. Still a good deal. 1 litre allowed.
Don't drive into Gib if going by car. The queues of cars in and out are a pain. Park on the spanish side (9 euro for 24 hours) and walk across the border. The bus will take you to Casemates square, very close to Stagnetto, for ?2.
