I can't understand people in business of any sort being rude but in sales your only chance to sell is if the customer likes you, unless you have a monopoly. I have a small landscaping company and covert about 70% of enquiries into Sales because I take the time to make my potential clients feel special. To my mind any businessman who doesn't do the same is damaging their brand/rep and deserves to flounder. Strange behaviour. There are some examples of companies that deliberately turn custom away to protect their brand, Hollister for example have very dim lighting and loud music to keep the geriatrics out however that wouldn't apply to rude cigar pedlars. Swiss people are the absolutely the most rude, racist, xenophpbic people I know unless you happen to arrive on a private jet and own several oil fields. Honestly I despise them.

Let's not sink to branding whole nations, societies etc.... There's been lots of that here recently and honestly, reading it all back.... It's slightly distasteful.

Hardly, Im pretty sure I have done some of the recent generalising myself... Still, as we saw the recent defence of London by some member's equally we may have Swiss members... Active, Lurking or Prospective..... I just wouldn't want them to think we aren't an open and inviting community.

I'm sure there's plenty of Swiss people who are not "Rude, Racist and/or Xenophobic." Perhaps not?.... I honestly don't know any Swiss people.

But surely denigrating swathes of a society (Smelly, Rude French) (Racist Swiss) etc etc, based and specific incidents and interactions with individuals Is just as bad as what they are being accused of?

Just the way I see things.

I wouldn't punish it... once we start punishing quick motions of a straight arm, then what parts of the freedom will go next?
Mind you: one does not have the right to not be offended

Also, I'm just going to say this: everyone I know in Der Schweiz (ne pas La Suisse) is not a Swiss Citizen. They are admired by their neighbours... but it gets kinda hard on small, mediocre occasions.
Plus people in Geneve are pretty open. They acknowledge the international people as well as the business and tourists. General public is friendly there
