Sounds like a great trip! Always been a place I've fancied travelling and I do enjoy there yamazaki whisky!

I love Japanese Whisky! I bet their distillery will be an eye opener.

watched the Hairy Bikers in Japan seemed like lots of people were smoking cigarettes in the bars, don't know about cigars though

Just to let you know I'm back in one piece - just

Wonderful place, great trip, visit if you can. Some great whisky bars and decent cigar bars to be found if you look hard enough. They are very strict on smoking outside but don't bat an eyelid when you spark up in a bar. Work that one out.

The blogging didn't go to plan due to time/internet/too much whisky, but I'm busy writing pieces on my experiences and will give you a heads up as and when they publish. Discovery of the tour? Hakashu whisky - fresh, green, light and full of new life. Oh and Mizunara (Japanese Oak) - wonderful incense-like notes which once smelled, will forever remind you of the Land of the Rising Sun.
