  • Buying a humidor in Amsterdam

Hello everyone, longtime lurker and first time poster here. I'm in Amsterdam for the next 24 hours and wondering where would be a good place to buy a new humidor with prices just a smidge higher than what I'd get online? Ideally something from Adorini or the like; it would be great to be able to view the humi in person before purchasing.

The LCDH and other well known cigar shops here only seem to carry quite high end humidors whereas I was looking for something around the ?100-?150 mark

If anyone could shed some light on this I'd really appreciate it!

No idea personally but someone might chip in. Good luck.

Hi mate. What size are you after? Adorini do some great ones and they are high end but prices are decent. I've got the Chianti which is ?190 and holds roughly 75-100 cigars depending on size.

Not sure about where's good in Amsterdam as I've never been but I'd assume any LCDH anywhere in the world wouldn't particularly stock lower priced items.

You could also try Prestige humidors. I don't want to advertise my own business but we have a decent range on Humibros.com which should give you a good idea on what size humidor would set u back at what price.

One thing I would definitely say is go for bigger than you need. Eventually you're going to want more space and I think a few people as well as me have experienced that and would probably agree.

I have the Adorini Venzia Deluxe which is excellent, takes about 50 Cohiba Siglo 2 size cigars, cost me ?129 delivered. Also have a look at the Adorini Venzia Deluxe Grande which would take about 100 Siglo 2 with some room to spare, costs ?166 delivered UK. With hindsight I should have gone for the bigger one and I would advise you to get the biggest size you can afford.

When I ordered mine I found that humidordiscount.co.uk seemed to be the cheapest - I got an Adorini mini-cabinet style humidor (I always forget the name) that holds c.100 monte 4 sized cigars delivered for ?140 I think.

If you go onto the German version of that website (www.humidordiscount.de) you can get them even cheaper - my humidor cost ?260 instead of ?273, and you still get free delivery 😊

Thanks for the tips everyone! Didn't manage to find a new humi, but scored some nice cigars If any of you are ever in the Dam, be sure to check out the well known Hajenius cigar store and mini museum. Great place!
