The boveda will be overkill IMHO for a couple of days, the tupperware is airtight and won't need any humidifier.

There be truth in this thar post, depending on how long you're going to be away for. IME, anything up to about five days in an airtight container, taking into account you'll be opening it a few times, will be cool without the boveda.

I have the 5, 10 & 15 cigar caddy's & rarely use them. They are bulky. For up to a week, put your sticks into an old cigar tube, will keep it's humidity no problem. If really concerned bundle them together with lacky band & put in a zip lock bag. You can put a soaked cotton bud into the bag & at least it will never touch the sticks.
Worst scenario with travel humi's is getting fluid dripping or touching onto your sticks. Far worse than a slightly drier stick.

Good question Jeremy, collect them over a few yrs, used mainly when buying singles in Spain to bring them back. Never go away long enough to use the 15 stick one. Guess one day I could give the 15 away, perhaps filled up with Havanas it would make a good prize for a future comp?
PS Although very strong & water tight (I do take the No 5 fishing on annual hols), I do find you need to put a sheet of bubble wrap in there to prevent movement, as I have had damage to wrappers otherwise, especially on the slimmer vitolas.

That's logical then. I carry my 15 ct everywhere actually. I should really get a 10 ct as I've a lot of empty space in the 15. I guess that's how you got your 3 trophies eh?

Take the foam insert from the 15 count one and toss it in there Or in the 10. You've got a lot of creativity to use!

If the bulk is an issue, may I recommend the vector aluminium 10 count? It's a lot easier to take around with you than the cigar caddys

It all depends on how long you’ll be gone. In cases where you’re only gone for a few hours, a leather holder is fine, but since you’ll begone a few days, something that has humidifier properties is preferred. It seems that your method would work fairly well for that purpose. Let us know how well it worked for you on your trip!

I just pack tubes .... there's a big enough selection .... or, even use empties and pop in whatever fits or I feel like.

If you do much traveling, you mightwant to check out the Csonka Travel Humidor. It is a little blackcase that stores five cigars, has all the cigar tools you need, ahumidity monitor, pipettes for water, and storage for beads. Theywork great and are easy to stash in your suitcase or other bags.


Your plastic storage box works fine,but since I travel quite a bit I went ahead and bought something touse on my trips. I like the Csonka.
