Cuba is great for price but you can only bring back 50 without paying duty. My experience is that except ahead of the festival there are rarely andy hard to find cigars and even if there are you need to know where to look and more importantly, who to ask.

The country is wonderful, a real throw back but you must remember what strictures the normal people live under. If you are thinking of going let me know and I will send you some notes from my last 6 trips together with some Havana contacts.

Go before it changes and stay in a private house rather than a hotel for a real feel of the place.

Enjoy the cigars, the people and the city but read the Generation Y blog and Yoani Sanchez's book Havana Real to understand how the real people of Cuba have to live. This may also change your packing arrangements, I know two people who take soaps, medicines and clothes for friends and come home with empty suitcases (save their 50 cigars naturally!)

                      But above all, go !!!!

Each to his own on holiday destinations..but for HTF as asked in the OP, Cuba is not the best place to find them...great for diving though!
Cigar smokers are notoriously blinkered about Cuba & there are far better, again IMO, destinations in that region..

Now that could well be the reason that helps get the girlfriend out there! What's there to see? Much in the way of coral? Any sharks?
Do you get an allowance of 50 per person?
