Hey all, I've done a quick search for this and couldn't see anything which had been posted recently. Does anyone have any experiences to share re buying cigars from Paris? If so, would you mind sharing and good/bad experiences? I ask as I'm planning on nipping over on the EuroStar at some point later this year to stock up on cigars, given that the French legislate the prices at which cigars can be sold, and that those prices are sometimes up to 60% less than the average market price for the same cigars here in London.

Despite the fact that this is a Canadian talking to an Englishman about European geography, why not just take a trip to Basel in "Die Schweiz?"
One: the scenery and weather is heavenly this time of year and two: My mate's father lives there now and i know the prices for cigars there are quite nice. Close to Cuban prices even if you know where to look! But do watch out for fakies as i've heard a few small stores carry em. Just know where to look and you can find out.
I can ask him for good stores if you'd like??Originally posted by ValeTudoGuyMarc's a Fat Molly

Hey, thanks, I'd be very grateful if you have any info to pass on for future reference. I'm not really too fixated on buying in Paris, I just chose there initially as it's about ?70-80 pp return on the EuroStar if you manage to book the tickets right and the difference in price in a lot of 25s boxes is at least ?100, hence buying two boxes out there pays for a nice day out in Paris with the other half.

Prices are ok in Paris but not enough to justify a trip IMHO.
It is however one of my fave cities for sitting at a cafe and enjoying a cigar. If you can find last years QdO Short Robusto regional this is a really good smoke.Originally posted by Simon BolivarLittle medical correction there Steve, you will surely die...but not from smoking these

That's what I thought to start with as I've had a nosy through the relevant French legislation, I just had my doubts after reading monkey's post. Oh we'll, we'll see what the shop says and if all else fails I'll just have to have a "research trip" to Paris...
