  • Going anywhere in Europe... Best place?

I'm the designated planner for the holidays abroad for my circle of friends.

So I don't think it would be too evil to plan a holiday to benefit me ;-)

So where in Europe would you recommend going for a few nights for sight seeing and obtain some of God's finest sticks? Low prices but with a good selection

From what I've read on here so far Gibraltar seems to be the destination of choice.

    As for the South Europe:
Yup yupp, Gibraltar is great. If you go in the summer, you'll die! However, methinks travel will be cut down if you go there. Spain is also cheapest in all of Europe for sticks. Cheap destinations too because of the crisis and all too.... Was there last summer, wasn't too bad. Lived off paella for 3 days. GREAT!
Cretean islands off Greece is also good for sticks, food, AND price.

Or, just take a Mediterranean cruise like i did two years ago. it's an American company so it's quite cheap. 10 days for one person is a good 700 USD. Then you can plan small voyages to ANY of their desinations, we went to Greece twice, turkey once, and can't remember. But it's a good taste of the Mediterranean if you don't mind a tad of a sunburn and buckets of sweat. We did that after staying in Italia for a good week. (the cruise starts off in italia). Good use of the money, if i do say so myself!

Barcelona is my destination soon. There is lots to do there, lots to see and cheap sticks. Plus you might be able to get a footy match in too?

Unless Andorra's changed since I was there its about as boring a place as I have ever been (in the summer, not a snow sports person). Good prices on tobacco and alcohol, but otherwise not an interesting destination.

My family aren't skiers (tried it once, didn't get on well).

Staying somewhere nearby in Spain or France, and having a day trip into Andorra would be my choice (if I were going)

I think this would be a better option, or Barcelona as Fordi says; to be honest, although Gib is a great destination for cigar buyers there's not a huge selection of stuff to keep your friends entertained beyond that.

Alternatively, beyond the mainland, Palma's a great city and there are plenty of resorts surrounding the bay with transport access....same spanish prices and reasonable selection obviously

In the last year or so I've been to Gib, Andorra and Barcelona. Gib is great for prices but there's no real rarities to speak of. Barcelona had the most shops of the three places ...literally dozens and dozens of Tabacs but not all of them sell cigars, some only sell cigarettes. Andorra is chock full of rarities...quite amazing, like a time warp back to 2001...sadly Andorra la Vella is quite a bland place, kind of like a giant shopping mall

Gib and Andorra are fine for day-trips but not much longer tbh

Gib is limited to 50 sticks per adult Andorra is limited to 75

My advice would be to holiday in Barca and take the bus to Andorra and maybe stay the night. The bus takes about 3 hours and leaves from El Prat airport IIRC

Just for starters here are two in Barca that sell cigars!!

Casa Fuster is located at 29 Rambla de Catalunya
Gimeno is situated right in front of the Boqueria market

I would google them as i'm not sure i can add links?
