  • Looks like I've nailed another trip to Cuba...

The Mrs may have broken and we *might* be going to Guardalavaca/Holguin in October.......just need to get it finalised before she changes her mind.

Bring mozzie repellent. Some strong stuff too. Youll regret it if you don't!

Also, if you book with a canadian source, you could save a bundle. I went during high traffic time during the winter and 1000CAD (700GBP?) covered all food, liquor, flight, and lodging. If you go in October, it might only cost you 700CAD!! (Maybe add on flight to Canada, maybe not).

Chris and I saw a 10 day Cuba all-in for ?750 per person yesterday. Was very tempted (Christine was actually keen). But I wasn't sure about the weather .... October is Hurricane season I think!

October can be dodgy but we've been before at that time and it worked out ok...just...!

Here's where we're thinking of going.

Go for it Deno, you can?t go wrong at PRDO, still possibly the best holiday hotel in Cubal! Not cheap, but you get what you pay for We were there some years ago before Cuba became a popular destination with the UK market. At that time unless you booked 12-15 months in advance, very limited bookings. From what I?ve herd recently from our Canadian friends the hotel is as good as ever, save for some fading paint work However, food, drink and service, etc, are still the very best. Oh, and a good cigar shop who might still arrange early on in your holiday to get you what is not readily available from the shop, boxes only, (for a small tip ).

That is unless you go to Holquin where there is a LCDH, but, don?t forget your passport if paying by credit card.

A liquid lunch, Monte #2 and a 3hr siesta doesn’t help Now I suspect I'll be awake half the bloody night

                          Enjoy!
