I'd echo RickMG's sentiments about the Nacionale, great place. My wife and I stayed for a couple of nights some years back. The cigar store is downstairs and the prices were keen (fours years ago admittedly)

Thanks Andy, I was looking at your facebook photos of the trip after I posted this and you had much better pictures. I sure wish I was going but I told Chris last night that next year for sure.

Pooh, the great thing about Havana, I found, is that it's easy enough to go to all those places and find out which one you like the best. I was just giving my suggestions. I certainly would dispute the rooms at the Melia as being better than the Nacional, but the Nacional is certainly nice and the history and location right on the Malacon cannot be beat.

I think we all agree that he's going to have a fabulous trip and more so because he is from the states and it's forbidden fruit down there.
