    Any Oz BOTL..

    Can it be done...????

I'm coming to Australia in June, primarily to see my good friends Rob,Lena & my god-daughter Emma.
    They live in Adelaide...
    My issues to solve...
    The Lions tour Test Matches...
    Brisbane 22nd June (+ invite to the 'deck' sorted..cheers Rob @ FoH..cooler ready :-) )
    Melbourne 29th June
    Sidney 6th July
Not a helpful itinerary for a tour..criss..crossing back & forth on the SW coast....
It will be a trip of our lifetime & my lady & I are both capable drivers/travelers.
We would like to see as much of the coastal area as possible, maybe even getting as far North as Cairns...
I have loads of questions on this, but generally from an Australian viewpoint, knowing the destinations & where I would like to be & when..does anyone have any input on what could/should be driven/flown..unmissable/missable aspects.....
Any help would be appreciated as local knowledge beats any websearch...
    Ta,
    Puff

Hey mate, sounds like a great trip! Depends what kind of stuff you are into, beaches, desserts, wildlife, museums, bush and national parks etc. if you are willing to put the effort in, and dollars, driving is the way to go. Been driving all over Australia with my folks, the scouts and mates, you see things and meet people you would miss other wise.
Were you planning on going to Adelaide first? Going from Adelaide to Brissy through central NSW is a really good drive, done it a few times. Then you'd be able to get from Brissy to Perth in a week too, no dramas, down through the mountains, which is called 'the great dividing range' it divides the east coast of Aus from the rest, then back up to syd from melb along the coast, as many beaches as you can handle!
there are a few days of full driving there, I don't think it would any cheaper to fly, I've never looked into the train side of things, not sure what the prices of that are, but at least you'd still be AB,e to see the land and not exhaust yourself from tons of driving.
    Does that help at all?
a personal invite to the deck from Rob! I'm jelly.

Cheers Alex, the more I look into driving the better it seems - except for the match logistics, I may have to re-think that.
Adelaide first is the general idea..get a little acclimatized to the Aussie way before moving on, still open to all ideas though..
