Hahaha unfortunately for yourself I work at a university as a lowly scientist! The real kicker is the wages in Switzerland are incredible! So I work in Switzerland and live in France where the cost of living is more or less half! More cash monies for cigars!

Its not too bad...I pay a swiss tax, and then a Geneva tax....and compulsory retirement (which I can claim back when I return to new Zealand)...so all in all the percentage is fairly high....although once I get married next Saturday that will drop considerably...for some reason?! But the wages more than make up for whatever I lose to tax....after tax I still earn double what I would for the same job in new Zealand...I guess the problem is the language, which probably prevents a fair few from applying. I'm lucky in my job that its all in English
tax on goods is very low, which I guess is why cigars and some electronics are cheap I don't know why they haven't put extra tobacco taxes on but I suspect its because everyone has to pay for private health insurance. keeps the country out of debt I think....

I believe it is quite punitive, but at least they do not charge ?20 plus for a pack of Toscano classico's that you can buy for under 5 euro's when on holiday.

Pretty much. Just a shame we live on an island .... or we might organise a charabanc .... doubt the Border Agency would see the humour though, when the bus weighs twice as much coming back than it did on the way out.

He's right, except that it revolves around her really and that's not a bad thing, it's a great day, you do have to be careful not to get ratted though, wine with the meal at 2 or 3 pm say then booze flowing freely for the next 10+hours! Good times

Lowest prices in Geneva (when I was there) were to be found at Gesto cigars. You could also get flights for about ?30 on easy jet and Ryan air outside of the tourist seasons.
