I'm going to be in Hamburg at the end of May and wondered whether anyone had any experience of a cigar friendly bar in the city?

What are prices like in Germany? Am I correct in thinking they are the same as in the UK, but in ?'s?

    Cheers

I think the prices a quite a bit less than UK
Welcome to La Casa del Habano Hamburg. Our cigars are exclusivly supplied by 5th Avenue Products, sole importer of Cuban cigars for the German market. We guarantee safe arrival WORLDWIDE at competitive shipping rates. Single cigars and cigar samplers also available

I am sure this place is owned by Mitch from C.Gars as well
No idea about friendly places to smoke though

The LCDH in Hamburg is probably the best place you can go... you can smoke inside of course.

      Best,

      Steve

Prices in germany are less than the UK. You might be able to pick up a bargain. Ask Tippex he knows of some German stores. Have a good time.

Germany's a bit cheaper than here. Keep yer eyes peeled for the REs. The Sancho and the Bolis are still on the go. If you see the Ramon Allones RE it apparently has a pre-embargo blend! I think they're sold out but you may get lucky

OOOOh Hamburg, well if you go to the Renaissance Hotel there is a great little Cigar shop there called Duske Duske, there's also one through the doors into the Hanse Viertel who also stock a large number of NCs. IF you come back out of there and go down Bleichenbrucke Street just before the bridge turn right and you'll find Nox bar (one of my favorite places, very chilled) You can smoke there and in the summer it's got a great patio area on the water.

Head towards the Main shopping area up Rathausemarkt and get to Saturn (Electronics) Turn right and find La Casa del Habano (Burchardstrasse 15) Great selection of Cigars, coffees and Rums, though they onely open til around 19:00 I think.

            Great city, have fun.

There's another bigish store up Collonaden Stasse bust off the small Lake by the Fairmont, but the cigars i've bought there have been ....hmm...let's just say not quote as good as the others.

I was in Hamburg late last year, the LA Casa is right by the metro station but I wouldn't bother with it, terrible service the guy there didn't want to help me at all, I even name dropped Mitch thinking he might buck his ideas up and help me, guy couldn't care less I was very disappointed, I took my money about 5 mins down the road to the main shopping street and on the corner was a wonderful tobacconist who was only too happy to help me buy my 3 boxes of RE's details are here:

Duske & Duske is an experience !

I loved it and the selection, care and service is outstanding - they even engraved a ST Dupont I bought there in a few hours, perfect.
Mind you : it's a hole in the wall and anyone not familiar with it would believe it's a newsagent :-)

Also good : it's located in the city centre, next to a first rate shopping gallery and across from the Hanse Lounge, Hamburg's best cigar lounge ( members only though )
