I may be late to the party but I hadn't heard anything about this.

Cuban cigar factories to close to public?

This would be a big mistake IMO. Even people who have never tried a cigar in their life will take the tours just for the experience, and it`s additional revenue for the factories. I don`t quite follow the reasoning behind the decision at all."Keep your eyes peeled, your arse up, head down, and your ear to the gound" WHISKY77

Seriously though. There was a big lock down when I was there in October but I believed that was temporary. Partagas is part of the tourist industry (but a great tour) so I can't see it remaining closed for long.
The others aren't easy to get into but I suspect things will ease.Nic

Odd. Nothing happens in the factories that tourist haven't been allowed to see and the tours generate much needed revenue. So, maybe it's damage limitation. Something, that Habanos would prefer the cigar world not to know about, has been going missing from the factories on a too regular basis, something small, valuable and which could be easily passed to 'fake' tourists. Holograms and warranty seals for example. If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!
