Good afternoon ladies and gents.
I picked up a few sticks yesterday, I was especially excited about the Trinidad Reyes after all the recommendations I've had on here.
Introduction: Very good construction, decent scent on the cigar and very sturdy.
First third: The first third of the cigar was very Earth, in fact there is no point reviewing the second and final third of the cigar because it was very consistent throughout, something I've never experienced with any cigar before. Saying that, I did enjoy the cigar as it was woody and Earthy with the odd hint of a flowery taste.
I did enjoy this cigar but I know what the problem is, the cigar was young, very young and I didn't realise it would need to be aged. My plan is to keep some Reyes in the humi for at least 10 months and I'll keep another for 14 - 16 months to see how they progress. Saying that, I think out of any cigar I've smoked to date, the Reyes had the best draw and construction. I'm not sure how common a consistent taste is, perhaps somebody else on here has had the same experience with the Reyes?
The smoke was very light and mellow, there wasn't much of it either which I quite like as if you're out at a restaurant some people don't like heaps of cigar smoke blowing in their faces. There is no strong after taste in my mouth, I do like the after taste and the Bolivar JC left me with a lovely tangy taste .
Overall, I'd give this cigar 7.5/10 but I'm confident with age, that score would increase.
I nearly finished the cigar BUT I burn't myself by accident which caused me to drop the cigar right at the end , got a nice burn on my forearm now too which will probably scar but I'm a fan of scars as they remind you not to be clumsy and can take you back in time!
Overall, a decent cigar with fantastic construction and a consistent taste.
Flavours: Very woody, Earthy with the occasional floral taste.
Rick.
