Oh my oh my, i've had this box sitting in my humidor for about 9 months now and just had to try one today, so what do we have:
The Fonseca No1 Lonsdale, my first Cuban review.....
I clipped the cigar and to be honest I couldn't draw it, Just for the sake of knowledge I clipped it about 1 inch down , I could feel the "hard point" after much messing around I destroyed it and pulled another!
SO insert Fonseca No 2: It's still a No 1 but you get the idea
Oh wow, right from the get go this was as smoth as you like, I can only say it was like smoking something with cream in it, it was sweet and creamy with a what I can only describe as cinamon with a peppery after taste, I was really enjoying this.
As Scooby would say "Ruh Roh" the second cigar started to unravel, not a great beginning, first one DOA the second coming apart, but I perservered, it was well worth the wait, again it had a creamy note and was so smooth, I was enjoying this, all through the smoke it kept interjecting notes of cinamon and a sweetness, maybe sugar cane, I would even go as far as to say that it had a fruity taste, though quite heat I do not know.
But then by the second half it became unstable and started to unravel, the wrapper literally started to fall apart.
I gave up! It went in the bin.
I will try again tomorrow as this really did taste fantastic.
