Good evening all,
today is Saturday the 30th of July 2011, the Sun has been shining, the wind has been warm and I've ended my day a very happy man. I'd like to thank El Yanqui for recommending me the Bolivar JC along with other cigars too. I've been reading other users reviews so I will review this cigar properly and as thoroughly as possible.
Prelight: The scent of the Bolivar JC was very light, nothing overpowering, very light in weight and the cigar itself is quite small. I'm not aware of the age of the cigar as it was a single (I can find out if you want me to from the shop).

Opening: The first couple of draws were very Earthy which developed into a spicy which was quite intense for around seven or eight minutes. The smoke was very consistent throughout the experience, lots of smoke but it was very mellow and enjoyable.
First third: As mentioned, the first third was primarily Earthy and spicy.
Second third: During the second third the JC became very interesting. The transition from Earthy and spicy became *I hope this sounds credible* chocolatey, I had flavours of dark chocolate and cream. I'm not sure if this is unusual for a Bolivar but I could taste strong chocolate and the smoke was very creamy. At this stage I'm sure my neighbours thought I was having sex due to the numerous "Oh my God!" and "please keep going" comments I was repeating to myself. I couldn't believe the flavours I was experiencing, compared to the other cigars I've tasted, these were new to me.
Final third: The final third was lovely, it was a pure coffee flavour throughout but something did baffle me. As I was releasing the smoke from my mouth I had an experience that can only be compared to when you exhale after having an Airwave chewing gum, it was a very fresh experience. I cannot really explain it but it was similar to the Airwave gum, just pure freshness.
Overall/thoughts: This cigar is a prime example of not to judge a book by its cover, the JC may be small but it can pack a real punch, the flavours and smoke that come with this cigar are massive, something I did not expect. I have been reading about the JC and I can honestly say my expectations were blown out of the water. There is no strong after taste in my mouth, just one of flavour and mellowness, I will be buying a few sticks of this as soon as I get a humi sorted out. I'm so impressed with Bolivar (this is my first), at around the ?8 - 9 mark this cigar is a great price for what you get in return, the size is small but the flavours are huge. The cigar itself was quite sturdy and well made, nothing fell apart when I cut it and I've finally managed to toast the cigar properly.
Score: 86/100, I will be buying again without a doubt.
Thanks for reading!
