La Flor de Cano Short Robusto (2010 UK RE)

So then, not that long ago the wait was finally over... The eagerly anticipated LFdC Short Robustos had finally arrived in the UK. Ajay seems to have cleared up the actual reason for the delay in his video review of this cigar (click, part 1).

These cigars are pretty short and squat, but there's something that looks strangely sexy about their proportions.

In three words: beurre blanc sauce... (If I'm allowed one more: scallops). Now, those are not bad things for the flavours to be reminiscent of.

The flavours were excellent, though I thought just a touch on the subdued side, and there was just a touch less development than I would have liked. The burn was very good, requiring little attention save for a carelessly needed re-light. The ash was excellent and the draw spot on for the most part.

Just bought one of these and they look and smell great. Certainly shorter than I expected, but I should have seen that coming! Can't wait to smoke it.

I reckon you could probably get that down to around 55 minutes under normal circumstances (was having a damn good chin-wag at the time).

Have to admit that I'm very tempted to pull the trigger on a box of these. Not sure I can justify a whole box though... I wonder if anyone would be interested in a split, or a couple of guys in having five or six a piece...

i dont rate them, no outstanding flavours imo. hope they develop into something nice after a few years. A bit of a let down.

Kam, after smoking my first I commented here that this was nothing special now but will probably age superbly.

The same thing happened with the original. No fireworks at launch but after 10 years became a very highly saught after cigar (a box would go for ?5k+ now).

I won't be smoking another for 5 years i reckon.

A Monte PE is a far better smoke right now, this is only a stick for ageing IMHO.
