So, I thought I was due a review, seeing as Ive been here a couple of weeks and have yet to provide one. Forgive me if I miss anything, or the review doesnt provide much insight, Im especially new to the reviewing side of things, so go easy on me.
Arturo Fuente Hemingway Short Story
Size: 4 inches x 43/47 gauge
Year: Unknown.
Price: $11 (I bought in Beverly Hills, so ended up paying through the nose for this).
Smoking time: 1 Hour.
Appearance and Construction: The cigar has a beautiful consistent rich colour to it. I didn?t find there were too many veins in appearance which helped keep the wrapper smooth with a nice shine to it. The construction of the cigar was firm, with just the right amount of give. Considering the shape of these cigars, I have heard that often a lot of glue can sometimes be seen on the wrapper, as well as sometimes fingerprints in the glue too, however I had none of those problems with this one.
Smoking Characteristics: With the nipple on the foot of this cigar, it made lighting very quick and easy, with only one match required to get it started. It almost made me wonder why companies aren?t endorsing this technique more often. The burn was wonderfully even, and when it started to lean to the side, it corrected itself perfectly. Even though the cigar produces a lot of smoke for such a little chap, the doesn?t mean the smoking time in reduced. In fact, this little smoke took a good hour to work through.

Flavour: To start with, there was very little flavor and the disappointed look started to creep over my face. Four to Five puffs in however it really started to open up, and the flavours came pouring through. There were hints of cream and a very light woody flavour, but always in a smooth velvet like form. There were bits of citrus creeping through too. I have a habit of smelling the cigar at the head during the first third, and the smell was heavenly, full of deep wood and milk. During this first third, there were also hints of red grape, and something else I couldn?t quite put my finger on. The second third started off with a hint of light spice, and something strange?Mint! I love mint, and this was my first experience of it within a cigars flavour, so it was a pleasant surprise! The aftertaste was still very creamy, and left a nice coating on the tongue. There is now also a lot more woody flavours coming through as well as some slight nutmeg. The last third started with what I can only describe, as well done steak, just that smell of beef being cook on a high heat, but with a buttery finish. This increased with mushroom like flavour, and continued with hints of mint throughout. Towards the end, these flavours died off a little unfortunately, but only to head back towards those smooth creamy notes.

Overall opinions: What a beautiful charming cigar with so much hidden inside its relatively small package. An astounding amount of flavours packed in, with what is a completely effortless cigar to smoke. Clocking in at a relaxing hour, and with so much going for it, I think I will be purchasing a box of these for sure. Not bad for a cigar that, if shopped around, can be found for $5.
