Second one I smoked, the first out of my MAR 10 box.

Looks, Construction, and burn : As close to immaculate as you can get. Very beautiful, classy cigar 5/5

Flavour : Smooth and creamy all the way through ! Caf? latte vearing to espresso on the last third with hints of burnt caramel, honey and dried fruit. Last third picks up quite a bit but remains very smooth, it goes fr(om a perfect medium to a more full-flavoured cigar without becoming harsh in the least. Absolutely brilliant.

Value: Its more expensive than a cohiba robusto, but its also that much better imo

Overall : 4.8/5, ya I only bought a dozen and I already find myself wanting to buy another dozen and maybe some coloniales to boot. Obviously I liked it

IMHO this should be paired with ros? or white wine for first 2 thirds (not beer or red wine) and you can go to coffee on the last third as it picks up quite a bit in flavour and strength.

Have you smoked the Coloniales Monkey ? If so, how do they compare ?

it's a similar blend but being a smaller stick it can get a bit hot for the ultimate creaminess you get from the T. If you like the T you will enjoy all the regular Trini's (I'mnot too keen on 07 EL though).

Nice review Daize. Succinct but very informative. Like monkey, I think it fairly reflects my experiences of this wonderful cigar (no idea what I've drunk with them though...) Unfortunately, I don't get to smoke many of them given their price!

I realise they are expensive, but having smoked the entire range at one time or another (including the EL releases) the Robusto Extra is still the one to beat within the Trini range IMO. Absolutely fantastic smoke, especially witha couple of years on it.

Give it a try if you get the chance.

Hi All,

This is my 1st post. Only been smoking cigars for 5 months so not had many but out of the ones i have tryed, the Robusto Extra is my fav. First had the Trini Short Robusto T LE 2010 which was a beautiful smoke but all over to quickly so tryed the Extra for a prolonged experience. Think i had a coffee with it but had to finnish it before the cigar as the drink would have been cold 1 hour later.

Love the forum and all the info it provides. Glad to be part of it.
