As promised here is the Diplomaticos number five review
Appearance & Construction 15 / 15
Nice cigar looked perfect, slightly boxed pressed a nice dark brown wrapper, nice looking cap simply no way to fault it full marks.
Draw & Burn 23.5 / 25
Nice draw slightly firm but not to tight nor a wind tunnel. The burn was perfect right down to the end were it went slightly crocked but not to bad as it did not fault my enjoyment and it was coming close to the end I am going to only take away a half point for this.
Flavour & Body 23.5/25
started out with a creamy lemony taste with pepper following then the flavours transfusing slightly. Then the peer came back with a vengeance and remained for most of the rest of the cigar until the end, until a flavour resembling stone fruits and butterscotch came into the cigar slightly. I would argue that overall this was a medium to full smoke sadly my coffee ( the joys of living on the second floor of a non smoking building) ran out towards the end and I found that without it the cigar became a bit overpowering overall I would say 23.5/25.
Overall Impression 34 / 35
a good solid short smoke who ever decided to discontinue these needs to be fired in all honesty. I would buy a box if I could afford one. Against the Luis Martinez I would argue that this was the better smoke but only buy a whisker. They are both good cigars in all honesty but given the choice I would go for the Luis Martinez but only on the price point.
TOTAL 96 / 100
