So something I haven't tried I'm familiar with Neos mini flavoured offering but wanted to give this Wilde Country small sticks ago around 5 inches long and a ring gauge of about 30 they are tiny.
But in tins of twenty seemed like a good price for a UK offering anyway. So on opening Country is the word rustic looking with a rough foot, aroma from the tin is hay barnyard which to be honest I was expecting to smell that dirty earth smell you get from Wintermans and Cafe Creme types.
Dry drawing on this gives a slightly sweet hay tobacco taste nothing offensive or to write home about any easy light and fairly tight draw but not bad.
The initial flavour is a rich earth with slight burnt coffee undertones. Not the greatest the ash is interesting it's speckled, which on closer look is because the wrapper has some bumps which again adds to the rustic country cowboy vibe clearly being aimed for.
After the first few puffs I'm happy to say the burnt coffee earth mellows into a ever so slight sweet hay tobacco with just a slight bakers spice on the retro hale.
In fact without the retro the stick is one dimensional really which is the transition from burnt coffee to hay tobacco ever so slight sweet. But the retro brings just that touch of spice. As we get towards its end some pepper on the earth which combines with the hay notes.
For what it is, which is a short 10-20 min smoke I went 20, as smoking quickly on these is possible but not as nice. Its not a bad buy or purchase very two noted really which you would expect.
But far superior to your Hamlet with winterman sort of stuff. These are also affordable enough that you could test infuse these, or use the tobacco drops specifically designed for cigars you know if you are into that, which could add another dimension to these. The tobacco seems surprisingly decent for what they are.
Anyway you need a quick fix or feel a bit country cowboy like and you dont care for backwoods or Italian cigars they will do the job.
A Solid 3/5
