First the numbers:
Name: Fonseca KDT Cadetes
Size: 36 x 115
Price: ?4.95 (cgars.co.uk - priced matched with MSS)
BVI (Bwgan Value Index): 836
Smoke Time: 40 mins
Flavour: Light
Presentation - Stood to attention in fancy battle dress of a paper wrapper, bit different from everything else
Construction - looked lovely, vein free wrapper, nice and smooth
So a quick snip and a pre light puff.....oh. This is going to be trouble. Tight as a knats chuff. Snipped a bit more off, no better. So, hoped it would go away as I smoked it.
After a few puffs, there was a nice light flavour but the tight draw meant not a lot of it.
I then spent 40 mins fighting this little bugger, so I can't really comment on flavour or wax lyrical about the complex layer of flavours. The cigar burnt nice and even, a nice tight grey ash but I couldnt enjoy it at all, it was a battle! I won't be building up a battalion of these in my humidor.....
Recently I've had a few cubans at the bottom end of the price range and a few NC's that were cheaper. I've come to the conclusion that for cheapies I'm going NC all the way as I can get 2 for the price of a disappointing Cuban. and they have all been consistent.
