I got a 6 coronet Drew Estate Sampler and started off with the Coronet Undercrown Shade, a ring gauge of 32 and around 4" in length these are little but a good 30 -40 min smoke 20 if you smoke like a chimney. I went 35 min. So on the pre light a sweet cedar hay like smell construction standard Drew Estate affair meaning quality though I am biased as Drew is my Fav blender both infused and more traditional just depends on my mood.
Well simple V cut on this and the pre light draw sweet wood with a little nut, she lights like a dream beautiful grey white ash with black flecks, the initial flavour is a very mild sweetness natural not a sweetened cap, very rich creamy smoke followed by a woody cedar hit so sweet and woody cream and its the prevailing flavour, now for the retrohale, more pronounced sweetness creamy wood, with a subtle cinamony pepper spice and I mean subtle its there but by no means over powering, then on the last finish a hazelnut coco nuttiness which lingers in the mouth very nice.
As it goes through the Spice increases a little meaning you get this very woody creamy naturally subtle sweet smoke that has been spiced just a little with the spice increasing in strength as we progress but only a little it never reaches beyond a medium smoke and frankly its smooth as anything but flavourful still. Its Pure Drew Estate quality and for those not fans of the Infusions they do or the sweeter natural sticks they do, this is lovely traditional type cigar that comes packing with what Drew Estate promises flavour.
Reminds me why I'm such a fan of Drew Estate and when they are on offer like this sampler was it becomes more affordable, but dont let the size fool you these smaller smokes from Drew Estate are still excellent and a great way for anyone to experience Drew Estate both with their infused range and the more traditional range. Highly recommended and the plus the wife quite likes the smell from Drew Estate Sticks even this one so was allowed to enjoy this in the warmth of the house.
