I smoked a very nice Oliva G on Friday compliments of the bomb from Aussiewaz.
On pulling it out of the humi I immediately noticed the nice dark and oily maduro wrapper. Bringing it to my nose revealed a spiciness I've come to associate with tobacco from Nicaragua. The pre-light draw had definite tones of wood and leather, with hints of cocoa.
It took to lighting very easily and right from the start produced voluminous lovely smoke, of the kind I tend to associate with Bolivar puros.
After the first third all of the spiceness went away and had lovely flavours of cocoa and coffee, still plenty of smoke just right for blowing smoke rings for my daughter to shoot with her water gun (another of her favourite past-times).
It was smooth all the way through. I normally do a hot purge by the last third, but found with the oliva I never needed to. No tar buildup, and no extra heat in the draw even when nubbed.
The only drawback to the the G was an incredible craving for an after eight mint it left me with. i had to go to the shops immediatly for them and further enjoy my evening with that and an expresso!
All in all a very fine smoke that in my opinion is right up there with my favourite ISOM puros.
Thanx Aussiewaz!
PS sorry no photos, I was in pure enjoyment mode on friday and wasnt thinking of posting a review when I smoked it!
