  • Italico Rosso Arabica

Well I'm back with a Cigar review my first in a longtime. We have the Italico Rosso Arabica an Italian cigar so that's a Kentucky fire Cured leaf and some Italian espresso essence all in a small Size: 3 1/8″ x 36.

Dont let that fool you a quick little smoke this is not going to be, you are looking at a good 25-40 min smoke easily, on opening to be perfectly honest its like opening a tin of pipe tobacco not shocking as these type cigars tend use more tobacco typically used in pipes, there is that sweet hickory wood smell and that delightful espresso aroma, the dry draw is more sweet wood and espresso so far so good.

She lights no problem, nice even burn draw snug but not tight, then bam flavour town, a sweet earthy woods with hits of mild coffee a dash of vanilla and something approaching aniseedy, the retro-hale brings more of the espresso through along with a few hits of that fire cured spiciness almost cinnamon flavours, on a rather grey autumn day like today its a warmer and makes the crisp air just feel more autumn-like, its helped by all autumn colours as well I'm sure from a visual perspective. For what they are which is an affordable £20 or so for five sticks they are a great little firecracker, which from the natural sugars present in the leafs you may even here it crack as you puff away something that adds to the experience of this cigar again on a day like today although the little pop and crack personally works anytime.

These are great no two ways about it, in what is becoming something I can afford to do rarely now, the fact there is a lot things here for a Pipe smoker to enjoy and for those who like Italian Cigars and know what they are getting you really cant go wrong with the Italico or the Toscano or Nosrtano range of cigar though with Nostrano they don't use the Kentucky fire cured leaf and need a humidor the Italico and Toscano don't so are also great little stick for sharing in that regard as well.

Flavourful if smoked too quickly they can of course get over hot and bitter but taken even at a somewhat brisk 20 min which I took it avoids this but any quicker would push these too far which holds true across the Italian range of Cigars, more and more these Italian cigars offer something different to your typical dry dutch cigars (a flavour I personally prefer especially in the rosso)

Nice Review & nice to see you back reviewing. I can't not add a single comment; I know Italian cigars appear rustic in the extreme but this must be the ugliest stick ever!

LOL yeah they are not winning any beauty pageants but couldn't fault the flavour, and lots Pipe Smokers could get from these little sticks as well.
