A long awaited write up of the above, very kindly procured from Simon Bolivar
After 15 years without lighting up a cigar I have been making my way through some old sticks that I have been trying to rescue after not being stored or looked after in the way they should, and buying some at the cheaper end of what is now not a cheap market. Needless to say they have been unimpressive, so to say I was looking forward to trying this out was an understatement.
This cigar is listed as a Corona Gordo, which is a very nice size for me. This had a beautiful tan wrapper with tight, almost invisible seams and no prominent veins. As I would expect from a top tier cigar. I am not one to be able to determine specific flavours like some I have see & heard, but after inflicting a V cut (as the cap was quite flat), I seemed to get a cedar aroma & flavour from the cold draw. Excellent start..

First light was not as I'd hoped, but I'll put that down to the way I light them (aggressively toasted as it was a bit windy). This soon passed & developed into lots of soft smoke, with a great draw. Zero harshness through on the retro.

Into the first third & I could tell it was on a different level to what I have smoked before. Very creamy soft smoke texture & amazing aroma. I was looking forward to the next hour or so relaxing with this stick.

The rest of the cigar was just as enjoyable, the burn stayed almost razor sharp until the last third, but only then went a little wavy. Plenty more smooth smoke and zero harshness till the end.
Unfortunately not able to detect any particular flavours, but from what I could tell, it was a very enjoyable stick which I smoked until it became too hot to draw. I will clearly be keeping an eye out for these sticks when I go abroad, as with UK prices they are out of my budget.
Big thanks again to Simon for letting me try these out. Very much appreciated.
