Ok guys, my first review as Bopmachine requested one for this stick in an earlier thread.
This comes from the point of view of a novice cigar smoker, who has only been puffing away since May this year, and has probably had around a total of 20 cigars in his entire life!! Of those I have smoked favourites have been a Siglo III and Boli RC, and this was my first Siglo IV - drink of choice was my own version of a White Russian*.
I love the appearance of this cigar, the Cohiba band somehow looks the business for me. I lit it up and it started off with a fairly mild flavour, but a very pleasant and creamy feel to it which I was really liking. There seemd to be a few different flavours floating around in there (couldn't quite pick up exactly what!!)which blended together very smoothly, but the overall feel was a smooth, easy to smoke creamy feel.
After about an inch there was a lovely white head of ash produces plenty of smoke, and the beginnings of a vanilla flavour coming through to complement the creaminess - almost like a hint of white chocolate. By this time I'm really loving this smoke, sitting outside on a late afternoon, it's starting to get a bit cool, but I'm not really noticing it!! My girlfriend looks out the window at me, and I don't notice her for 5 minutes as I'm just staring at nothing, lost in my thoughts enjoying the flavours.....
Draw is absolutely spot on, and burn is almost perfect, just a couple of minor touch ups needed. Getting towards the end now, and not a hint of harshness and bitterness - very consistent from start to finish. The real highlight of this smoke was the last third for me - a real tangible chocolate flavour came through, with just a hint of spice and it was so delicious!!!
P1020103.jpg Just the one photo I'm afraid as I was enjoying the cigar so much I forgot to take any more!!
In conclusion I thought this was a really fine smoke - perfect draw, excellent construction and superb flavours - my score 94/100
* Monkey Nuts White Russian contains 1 measure Kahlua, 1 measure Baileys, 3/4's measure vanilla vodka, shaken with small amount of milk, poured over ice and extra milk added to taste - great drink!!
