I will be the first to admit that I am a slow smoker but I think that two hours for this short cigar is about my record.
The smooth, coffee bean coloured wrapper had no visible veins and gave of aromas reminiscent of almond coffee, which were carried through into the cold draw. An appetising start to a good looking cigar.
⠀
The first flavours that hit me after lighting the stick were cedar, raisins and, not surprisingly, espresso coffee. The smoke was thick, but very light in texture and feel in the mouth. The Gentleman Jack bourbon that I had poured a generous glass of was the perfect pairing.
⠀
The middle section introduced the sweetness of marzipan and the muskiness of truffles alongside the other flavours. It was at about this point that the burn started to get a little uneven and the ash started to get bitty.
⠀
The final third was considerably milder in flavour than the rest of the cigar had been, more of a gentle morning latte than a lunchtime espresso. Over all a pleasing smoke that I will be having again, if only to see if I can smoke it in under 2 hours 😎⏲
