Thoughts on the Partagas Series D4 Especial LE

Hi there,

On Friday night I was fortunate enough to smoke the Partages D4 Especial - one of the Limited Ediiton Releases for 2010.

Excellent draw and burn - top notch construction, but the flavour profile isn't quite there yet. Wasn't overly strong - more suave than a power bomb you sometimes get with Partagas.

Anyone else tried these? I'll revisit another one maybe at the end of October, but at the moment this Cigar doesn't seem quite there.

I assume you mean the Partagas Serie D Especial LE 2010, not the Partagas Reserva which was the D4 format from 2005 I think. Jimmeh and I tried the Reserva and thought is shockingly poor but other rave about it so we may have just had bad sticks. The 2010 LE I like lots.

i've 2 boxes of the partagas especial 2010, only smoked 1 stick so far!!!! the flavours were all there for me.......a fantastic cigar (so much so i bought the 2nd box on the strength of tasting 1 stick)!!! i plan to have my 2nd one at the end of the month.........then xmas!!!! it's got to be one of the best cigars i've smoked so far.......

Yes I am talking about the D Especial LE 2010. (Sorry too many similar naming sticks)

I think they will take a bit of time to settle a little. I might have just one of those "boxes" where they aren't quite ready while some others are.

I'm looking forward to see these get better in a few months.

I had one of these on my wedding day! To be honest I didn't give it as much attention as I should but never the less, enjoyed it!

I think that the whole Partagas range has become more mild of late. I've got some 2001 SD#4's in the humi and they are a totally different taste profile to anything that I have had from new boxes even taking into account the ageing process.
