I finally smoked a Padron Serie 1926, a No. 6 Natural, and fully concur with the rave reviews. Here's mine:
'Based on 100 point scale, but keep in mind that it is not the same 100 point scale that Cigar Aficionado uses. 70 possible points for taste, 20 possible points for burn, 5 possible points for appearance and 5 possible points for aroma.'
Taste - A wonderful medium-bodied flavor. I tasted leather and chocolate in the beginning. The middle had a bit of added herb. The last third got a bit spicier, but never threatened to get too strong. Overall, an outstanding tobacco blend. The finish was pleasant and long-lasting. If I were comparing the taste to only non-Cubans, I'd give it a 70/70; including the Cubans I've smoked, 64/70.
Burn - An even burn with minimal attention needed. 20/20
Appearance - An excellent box-pressed cigar with an oily wrapper. It might have been the most securely applied wrapper I've seen. 5/5
Aroma - I was smoking in a tobacconist's lounge with six other smokers, but the aroma I was able to detect was quite nice. 4/5
Total - 93/100
Conclusion
This is a delicious, masterful Nicaraguan puro that, in my opinion, shows cigars at their finest. When I have a cabinet humidor, I want to look through the glass door and see boxes of Cubans along with a box or two of Padron Serie 1926.
