Pete Johnson was in a rock band working in a cigar shop when he decided he could make his own cigar and make more money. What he knows about blending cigars is no more than you or I. He admits that and brags that he knew the best blender in the business was Jose Garcia, so he shelled out a bunch of cash to have Garcia make a blend for him. That's not blending to your likes, that's just smart business.

He might not be personally be developing the blend but I somewhat doubt he is letting some guy just blend whatever the hell he wants. What I'm saying is I'm sure they have to meet his approval before being boxed and sold! I don't think he would sell a product that didn't meet his expectations.

Believe me, Jose Garcia could have pissed in a jar and handed it to Pete Johnson and Pete Johnson would have slapped a label on it and sold it. I would bet a million to one that Pete Johnson took the first blend Garcia offered him and hasn't looked back.

Hey guys. I just wanted to jump on and clear up a few things on the brand and the people behind it.....

The owner of the brand is me Pete Johnson and I have been in the cigar business for close to 18 years. I had not played in the music business for many years when I met Pepin. I first met Pepin Garcia 7 years ago when no one in the cigar industry knew who he was. He was a very talented cigar maker and was quick to come up with blends but it took him four blends before he actually made me something that I liked and it was from my direction. When I met him, he had only been in the USA for about a year and he was working for a small company as an event roller. A talent waiting to be discovered and flower.

When I first made this cigar, it was something for me to enjoy and the business side didn't come into play until about a year later when people started wanting it. I am very specific with Pepin when it comes to my taste in a cigar. We work closely together along with his son Jaime to find products that I like to smoke first....There have been many blends that Pepin and Jaime make for their other clients that I don't like at all but the ones I have liked have been far more.....Today after working with Pepin and Jaime for over 7 years, I am very well versed in tobacco. With great thanks to them of course but I can say with pride, that my newest creation El Triunfador and so far my best received product since the original brown label Miami Tatuaje, was a blend that I created by myself.....

I hope this clears up some questions and I am very happy to see that there is another forum out there.....

My hobby and passion turned into a business. This was never about making money but turned out that way......

              Thanks for smoking.....

              Pete Johnson

Welcome to the forum Pete, great cigars man. I haven't tried that many, but everyone has been good. I have a friend of mine working on getting me some different one, and I hope to get some on holiday in the states this year.

Keep on doing what you do bro

                              Hullo Mr. Johnson and welcome!

I don't seem to be able to find the Tatuaje's as easily this side of the pond as they are over in the states. I'm interested in trying some and even the box design on them is very good but can't seem to locate them that easily.

                                Well I stand corrected

But that aside, I have to say that not even Sam Leccia got as much ass-kissing as Pete did after one post. What gives? El Perro? You never grovel! You all must think that you're going to get something for free by bowing down to Pete.

MESSAGE TO PETE: Don't give anything for free to these chumps! Unless you're sending one my way too
