Well, here goes. Never done one of these before and though have smoked many cigars which I have enjoyed (or not), have never really tried to analyse them. Bear with me as still very much struggling to describe flavours etc but hopefully will improve with practice.

The JLPC is a nicely constructed cigar, firm to the touch with a good looking wrappper. Lovely smell to it and on cutting, unlit draw is nice and firm but not tight.
On lighting, I found the first few draws fairly harsh but it quickly settled into a much more pleasant phase. Plenty smoke and a nice even burn. Initial flavour was woody with a bit of spice gradually changing to slightly sweeter kind of biscuit taste. In the final third I had a wee technical as I caused a slight tear in the wrapper when removing the band. The flavour in the last third was the big surprize. Salty. Still smooth and tasty but with definite salt. Lovely.
Cigar lasted 45 to 50 mins and was really enjoyable. This is the first of this size I have smoked but would go for it again.
Would rate it around 7 to 7.5 but as generally in past have smoked larger ring sizes this may have clouded my judgement.
Grateful for any advice on reviewing, and hopefully my taste perception and description will improve with practice.
Enjoyedd the exErcise as it made me take time to try and appreciate more of the cigar.

Look forward to hearing what you find. Fortunately I'm thick skinned so quite prepared for you to tell me I'm talking crap and must have the palate and tastebuds of a komodo dragon.

Will persevere however and try a few more reviews in the hope that, not only will I improve at it, but that I will also get more enjoyment from my cigars and improve my knowledge.

A entry to the reviewing world - it conveyed the development of the flavours, the burn/draw quality and the condition before smoking. All in all, every base covered. Photos are always nice (I must look like a sad git outside the bars taking photos of my cigars for reviews...) and just a little bit of bulking out/extra and trivial details. Nonetheless, a useful review.

The JLPC sounds like a nice little cigar.

Unfortunately, I shall not be able to replicate the experience, due to Postman Pat's ineptitude/dishonesty...

Absolutely - great approach. This pretty much sums up why I do my reviews, I think more about the cigar and tend to appreciate its nuances more than otherwise. By appreciating how they develop, I hope that I've started to understand them better. I definitely feel that my knowledge has improved (partly because I always like to read around other reviews of the same cigar after I have written mine to see how the line-up).

I am obviously biased where the JLPC are concerned. I normally smoke them during the day and IMO they are the best PC out there. Ideal if you want a quick smoke, but still want some decent Cuban flavour in the cigar.

Just finished the second of these little treasures. Didn't get the salty taste this time but a truly enjoyable smoke. My thanks again to Whisky77 for giving me the opportunity to try them. Inclined to raise my score to an easy 8.
Will definitely be purchasing some shortly.
If you haven't already had one, give it a go.I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
