Presentation:
Well, buying 10 898's nets you a pretty varnished box, free!
Size:
Corona-extra? As a dedicated robusto smoker, its thinner than a robusto.
A good size format for the smoke.
Construction:
The cigar has a dark, slightly mottled wrapper. Draw is thick; like a smoothie not a milkshake, and gives a rich, heavy smoke.
The burn is average, needs a few touchups to correct side-burning, but has a beautiful white tissue-papery ash; probably because of a thick wrapper leaf.
Flavour:
Very rich, strong, Partagas flavour; woody, sweet, leathery/earthy/cocoa notes.
Similar to the short D5 LE, but more cabernet-sauvignon/port than espresso. How to compare it to the D4 or lusitania, different but still partagas. Guess I need to do some more research
Overall:
Good cigar, always enjoyable to smoke but definitely not an everyday smoke. Worth keeping a box, especially if you like the partagas style.
