    Trinidad Coloniales

    44 x 5 1/4'

A nice looking stick, that?s come very well packed, with a lovely Claro wrapper, which is very oily and attractive to the eye. This example comes from a five pack that I purchased back in late 2015, I don?t know the exact date but I believe they were young, as I remember them smelling very fresh with ammonia.

After two years and three months of aging, the cigar now has a very soft vanilla aroma with a very slight hint of light pepper, on the pre light.

The pre light draw is good.

1st Third: The first few draws started of very dry, but were soon greeted with a really nice vanilla taste, with that classic sweet Cuban undertone. The smoke output was very good and left a nice oily taste on the lips with a very long finish, lots of vanilla and sweet Cuban tobacco flavor. A smooth smoke, however at times a little muted, with not every draw giving flavor, but overall a very pleasant first third.

2nd Third: As we smoked into the second third, a nice short bread flavor started to arrive with tiny hints of light pepper, with a little cream creeping in. Mild bodied at this point, the draw had really opened up nicely, very smooth cigar. At times I was feeling a little parched as, the dryness on the light started to welcome its self at times, but I?m sure age will rectify this.

3rd Third: Big round flavors in the final third, medium bodied, lots of vanilla, pepper, cream, mostly all of the flavors in the second third but more amplified, with the welcome of a little spice and leather. Surprising end to the cigar, as I were not expecting so much flavor from a young stick in the final third. Great Finish.

The construction on this cigar was spot on, even burn all the way through, good draw, only needed a slight touch up once.

Final Conclusion: Overall I give this cigar a solid 7/10, good quality Cuban cigar. A very pleasant light-medium cigar with great construction, which I would recommend to any smoker, of any experience.

A little overpriced in my opinion, there are many cigars with much fuller flavor and complexity for the money.

Age expectations: This is a cigar for short term aging, I think 5 years will make the smoke very smooth and fuller in flavor, ironing out any imperfections, 7 years at a very push, I really feel this cigar wont get any better with long term aging and in fact may even reduce the quality. As I find with light-medium bodied cigars time can actually go against you.

    Thank you

(I had a few pictures but they didn't come out well)

Mmmmm - i'm picking up undertones of irony and ammonia being carefully extracted!
