Thanks to Marc for the inspiration for this!

I have a large lock'n'lock in my wineador, full of single NCs I've been bombed, traded or just fancied on spur of the moment.
Yet I never smoke them. As a result, they're in danger of never being smoked, because even though I haven't tried them, it always feels like there's something better available.
VTG's threads have made me realise I could be missing out on some beauties, so I decided to give it a go.

The only rule I've set is that I'm not going to waste a cigar on account of time - so if when I'm taking a lucky dip I get a stick that's far too big for the time available, it'll go back in and I'll pick another.

I apologise in advance for my inability to upload pictures properly. I have no idea what's going on, and have lost the rest of my hair trying, so have given up and will just use an album with a link to the pics.

So, with trepidation and excitement, I picked one out.
A Gurkha. Bugger. I have only had two and I hated both.
This does not bode well, I thought.

Spicy pre-light draw, that was just right.
Lit up and was rewarded with billowing clouds of tasty, heavy smoke. There was a very full, almost earthy flavour to it.
I can't believe how will it held its ash and no relights were necessary at all.
This is good strong smoke, with plenty of flavour. There's a hint of cocoa and again, plenty of nice earthy, homely flavours.
I smoked for about 50 minutes, but at the end, I was high as a kite and as I had to pick the kids up thought continuing would be folly.
All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable smoke. I will definitely keep an eye out for more.

Nice idea GH. Which Gurkha is it, one of those fat bottomed jobbies?

          Good stuff buddy!
Being aware of cigar size is for sure a good thing.

On the picture side, have you tried Photo Bucket? I have moved to it completely. It gives a link you paste in and posts high quality pictures in correct orientation every time.

Nice...! As I mentioned in another thread, NCs need a bit of time, just like CCs as well. Though probably not as much as a CC. I would predict that you will be surprised time and time again by cigars you hated in the past and now come to life as they sat forgotten in your humidor for a while. Looking forward to more reviews.

In regards to images. I had problems with Tapatalk before and simply browsed to the forum on a browser, which worked just fine. Recently I had no problem with Tapatalk anymore though. :S

Interesting. I have just done a little trade with a contact from the states who wanted to show me some of the best NCs in his opinion. Usually I wouldn't really want to but I've made the decision that I'll smoke and review each one too.

This is the cigars he's sending.

The two on the left were on my list to try and find in the States last year Krist.
I never managed to pick them up, but everything I read about them suggested they were good smokes.
                          Hopefully you will enjoy them.

Diamond Crown is an awesome mild cigar. The julius cesar is also very very nice, strong nutty flavours.

I'm glad others like them too. I reckon I'll do a little review of each.
