Hey Everbody,
Today I tried a Plaxencia Reserva Organica. The first organic cigar I cam across so I added it to my recent order to see what it can do.
The stick comes in a robusto format and is price wise in the mid range. All tobacco comes from Nicaragua and that is where my knowledge ends.
The build quality is great. The stick is well packed and has a great draw. The cap is great and the dry smell very rich.

Lighting the cigar I am bombarded with a pepper blast. And its a blast I haven't seen in a while. The inside of my lips burnt from it. It was rather unpleasant and continued in that fashion for the first couple of millimeters. Though I did get some sweeter notes somewhere hiding in the background, but without chance to get through the pepper.

The beginning of the first third then became milder. The pepper resided and revealed...
... well not much at all. I got a strong grassy flavour but all in all very dull, very dry. Nothing but grass and a hint of tobacco. At this point I regretted ever to have lit this cigar when I could have smoked... (enough of that..
No regrets...!)
So I was a bit surprised when towards the end of the 1st third other flavours all of the sudden appeared. Sweetness was still lacking very much but I started to get some woody notes mixed with some more balanced and pleasant grassy notes. Still not great, but starting to pick up flavour.
The ash was great and very stable throught the cigar. Burn was even and no correction necessary.

Halfway through the cigar the wood came out more and the cigar built up a more balanced profile. I got notes of leather as well.
As I progressed the cigar became more intense but still mild overall. I was able to smoke it to the nub without harshness or bad notes.

What was the biggest problem throught the smoke is that all flavours were best described with 'dry' and maybe a bit dusty at times. I would rate this with 85-87. It is not a terrible cigar and I did enjoy it in the end, but nothing that I would buy more than a singe of every now and then. Though actually, I think I will try a lot more random cigars before I try another one of these.
