Yeah nice one Dunc, have to agree with all of that except the citrus, will try with a chunk next time. I've just realised that I have three, all gifted but no box ageing so thanks for reminding me.

Am I right in thinking that cigars under a year old are not so good? Is this known as 'the sick period' & best avoided, or, are there many Cubans that smoke well when young?

Sometimes they can have a sick period. A roller at lcdh told me that freshly rolled cigars should be smoked immediately or left for at least 6 months. IMO they get a bit smoother with age.
