Yesterday was D-Day... Partagas Serie D Day. I put the No. 4 through its paces. First on its own, then with a robust red wine. There are simply not enough words to describe this cigar, except for the fact that it is one of 'THE' best cigars you could ever smoke.
Very nicely constructed cigar which felt good in the hand, perfect pre-lit draw and the wrapper was a beautiful rich oily golden brown colour. Once lit the Partagas peppery taste is very present and that great Cuban tobacco taste with cedar, earth, wood, leather and strong spice being the dominant flavours. The No. 4 burnt perfectly from start to finish delivering rich sumptuous clouds of smoke that give off a strong chocolatey, mocha coffee fragrance.
In my opinion, pound for pound this is the best robusto money can buy, they have a beautifully rich flavour that doesn't overpower. This is Partagas' signature cigar?
Cheers, HabanoSy
